We are back! New year, new look. First post of the year goes to… drum roll please… The Spaniard in the West Village! Beautiful looking pub with friendly staff and cozy decor. The Smash burger is all the talk so we had to give it a try.
What’s in it? Double patty, American cheese, lettuce, pickles all on a sesame seed bun. Great looking burger, but to us tasted like a fancy version of the Big Mac at McDonald’s. Don’t get us wrong we love the Big Mac just was expecting more from the Smash burger.

Next on the menu was the Patty Melt, a dry aged patty with cheddar, bacon, pickles…McClure’s Pickles to be exact. Served with balsamic chutney on the side. Pretty good sandwich! Lots of flavor, juice, and that chutney kicked it up a notch.

Over all, the Smash burger and the Patty Melt made for a good meal.
